Kløvr

Hotel breakfast, without the paperwork.

Guests check themselves in at the restaurant door with their room key or room number, and Opera or Mews is updated straight away. Every morning also shows you when guests arrive, so you can plan staff and the kitchen around it.

Opening to hotels soon. Free for 7 days, then $399 per hotel per month.

The light tells the guest everything

The tablet stands in a room that is just waking up. While it waits, the light stays low in the corner. When a guest is welcome, morning floods the screen and the text turns dark so it stays sharp. Nobody has to read an instruction to understand it.

Good morning

Tap your room key on the reader, or type your room number

Three steps, and none of them is a form

  1. 01

The guest taps their room key, or types their room number

With your lock system connected, a tap of the key tells Kløvr which room it is. Without it, the guest types the room number on the screen. Either way, nobody calls out names across the tables.

  2. 02

    Kløvr looks up the stay

We find the reservation in that room right now, in Opera or Mews, and check whether breakfast is already in the rate.

  3. 03

    Your PMS is updated

The breakfast is written back straight away, or charged to the room if it isn’t included. The numbers add up before the guest has sat down.

A paper list tells you who ate. Not when.

At eleven the list goes in a drawer, and everything that happened that morning goes with it. With Kløvr, every breakfast gets a time, whether the guest tapped a key or typed a room number, and a few weeks of those times show you how your service actually runs.

What the list knows: which rooms came down.

Tomorrow’s plan, read off the curve

  1. 07:30Kitchen

Second round of hot food in the oven. It needs to be on the buffet when the rush starts at 07:45, not when the trays are already empty.

  2. 07:45Floor

Everyone on the floor until 08:45, clearing tables and refilling coffee. Half of the morning’s guests arrive in this hour.

  3. 09:15Wind down

Fewer than 20 guests a quarter-hour from here. One person can run the room while the kitchen starts clearing.

And every guest has a habit

Most guests come down at about the same time each morning. After a night or two, Kløvr knows roughly when to expect them, so the table can be ready before they arrive, and you notice when someone hasn’t come.

Works with Opera Cloud, Mews and your lock system

Kløvr reads the reservation from Oracle OPERA Cloud or Mews and writes breakfast back, as package consumption or as a charge to the room. Connecting your lock system is optional: without it, guests type their room number instead.

Using a different system? Tell us which one and we’ll look at adding it.

Breakfast is recorded on the tablet first and sent to your PMS afterwards. If the network drops during service, nobody notices: the numbers arrive when the connection is back.
